User-focused developer, designer & strategist with over a decade of experience uniting technology, people & design
ContactResumeMy favorite place to be — if I'm not out exploring the world — is the sweet spot in the middle of strategy, design, and technology. I like to be the bridge between the creative and the coding, to be a real product owner and follow projects from strategy and design through technical completion and beyond.
I have a background in building websites and e-commerce companies from the ground up, and I love working on a project where I have to learn something new to complete it. My technical career has been spent as a full stack engineer, but my passion is really for the interactivity with the user. I concentrate on envisioning and delivering solutions for users’ needs and problems. I bring business goals, creative strategy and the best technologies together to build rich user experiences.
Directed the user experience design initiative for the recent redevelopment of the ARchitect SaaS application used by major tech company AR departments including Oracle, Google, Microsoft, and SAP – designed the user interface, created UX specifications and wireframes, and implemented front-end code based on my iterative usability testing and user surveys that yielded huge improvements in user satisfaction. Created the ARInsights website utilizing WordPress templates and plugins and integrating custom PHP and JavaScript/jQuery.
Developed new functionality and handled website maintenance for Denver.org which reached over 1M unique monthly visitors at peak use. Built over 20 program sites including 2012 Webby honoree galleryguidedenver.com using substantial jQuery interactivity, the responsive website eatdrinkdenver.com with a custom jQuery/AJAX drag and drop CMS, multiple mobile sites, a mobile app, and SPAs.
Co-created and developed Needlepaint.com including a color processing algorithm to transform photographs to needlepoint designs.
Was quickly promoted to senior web devloper while working for clients including Qwest Communications and Ford. Eventually was tasked to lead the development of the large-scale website for VISIT DENVER, the Denver Convention and Visitor's bureau.
Co-created, -designed, and -developed BoardPusher.com which includes a JavaScript design and preview tool, a proprietary shopping cart, and a custom CMS to manage content, track orders, interact with social media and email campaigns, and output print ready images for production.
Built websites for many clients including art museums, agencies and corporations.
